
As you arrive, enjoy the smells, sights, and island sounds of Samoa. We greet you with flower leis, and then whisk you to your first accommodation in a tradition Samoan village. You will have the opportunity to swim in the turquoise water and have your first session of yoga. Being in a village is a unique experience and a chance to see Samoan culture first hand. You will be welcomed with a traditional ava ceremony. One day you will have a guided tour of a cocoa plantation followed by a fresh roasted cup of traditional Samoan cocoa. There will be opportunities to interact with Samoan families.
On this tour you will explore the island of Savai'i which is the big island of Samoa and the birthplace of Polynesian culture. Your accommodation is always right next to the ocean's edge. You will learn about the ecology of the island. There will be a guided snorkeling tour one day where you will see the multicolored fish and ocean life. In the evenings you can experience yoga tratak, which is the yoga practice of star gazing.
Every morning you can wake up to a guided sunrise meditation. You will dine on local island delights and have the opportunity to explore a cave made by lava tubes. One day we will swim in a fresh water spring which is some of the purest water of the world. Your skin may feel fresh, soft, and renewed. You will have time to relax and watch the sun set each evening. We will go to a beautiful waterfall where you can swim in the pristine fresh water. Also we will visit some of the most spectacular blow holes in the South Pacific.
For the final days of your tour we will be back on Upolu Island, where you will visit the home of Robert Louis Stevenson. Enjoy the colorful market of Samoa and shop for local crafts and gifts made by the local people. You can walk on the beach and swim in the ocean at your Upolu Island accommodation. One evening you will experience a Samoan fiafia (traditional celebration) with fire dancers from the local village! At the close of the tour, we will drop you off at the airport or at your other accommodation, if you are extending your Samoa adventure.
