Come and study the ancient healing systems of the world. Chinese, Ayurvedic, and Tibetan medicine joined together centuries ago to give people a healing art that is relevant today in our world as it was in ancient times. During our trip to China and Tibet, Candis will help the students to understand the nature of plants and experience the different tastes, and their thermal natures.d The six tastes, sweet, sour, salty, pungent, bitter and astringent are the personalities of the plants that give various physical and psychological healings. The thermal nature, hot, warm, cold, cool, wet and dry can also communicate to us the ways in which the herbs will react in us. Through the studies with Candis the students will come away with a greater understanding of their own consitutions, the nature of foods and plants, and a deep appreciation of these healing systems of the world.
This yoga retreat will immerse daily yoga practice into study of Tibetan healing. The sacred and historical sites will not to be missed during our stay in Tibet, Potala Palace,Jakhang Temple Tibetan Tantra Temple, Aerial burying site, Namtso Lake (the highest lake in the world), Tibetan Medicine Institute, and more.
