India is the birthplace of yoga. On this retreat into the heart of India we explore Kerala, the southern state filled with tropical beauty and rich culture. Kerala is known for Ayurveda, the holistic medical system of India, and yoga. We spend our first nights at a top luxury Ayurvedic Spa where the lush tip of India meets the Arabian sea. You will have a consultation with an Ayurvedic medical doctor to determine your body's dosha and to create a healing plan that suits your needs. This retreat includes one daily massage while at the spa and you will have to time to get other treatments as well. We will visit the southern tip of India to visit where some of Ghandi's ashes were spread and visit where Swami Vivekanada, the man who introduced yoga to America, taught from. You will visit ancient temples that thrive with life and devotion today. You will experience rejuvenating vinyasa flow yoga with Taialofa daily. Spiritual India is a great place to explore all aspects of yoga and the yoga lifestyle. Taialofa will guide chanting, pranayama, and fresh ways to meditate, rejuvenate, and balance the mind as well as tap into your pure essential self. You will have the opportunity to spend time living on a house boat as we slowly flow through the backwater rivers where many of the world's spices are grown. We will visit the ashram of the living saint, the hugging mother, Amma. We will spend 2 nights at the Tekkady Tiger Preserve where we will take jungle walks to see elephants and have the rare possibility of sighting a tiger. We will finish this incredible retreat at the Ayurvedic spa, again to be massaged and to swim in the Arabian sea. Beautiful sunsets and time for contemplation and centering. This is truly a yoga retreat of a lifetime.
